Making an accurate cross cut sled for your table saw

by Christopher Thomas

A cross cut sled is probably one of the most important jigs in your workshop.  Many woodworkers most commonly use a carpenter’s square to set the angle for their sled, however, when accuracy counts you cannot do better than William Ng’s five-cut method.

Since a lot of woodworkers are intimidated by the math, we will take the calculations out of the equation — so all you have to do is measure.  We will demonstrate step-by-step to show you how easy the five-cut method can be.  We are even providing you with a Google spreadsheet that is pre-programmed with all of the calculations.  All you have to do is add your measurements.
