Day of the Child 2024

by Michael Miller

On Wednesday, April 10, Inland Woodworkers manned a booth at the 2024 Jurupa Day of the Child event.

Volunteers Ernie Gonzalez, Michael Miller, Mike Trejo, and Rick Reimer, were on hand to tell parents about the Inland Woodworkers club and introduce the kids to woodworking.

This event was sponsored by the Parent Involvement Community Outreach (PICO) program for Jurupa Unified School District. It was a resource fair, with more than 30 booths, including the Inland Woodworkers. There were also booths for county agencies, health providers, behavioral health professionals, and local education facilities, such as Jurupa Adult School and Riverside City College. And the day was a minimum-school day (i.e., early dismissal) so that students could attend with their parents.

Thanks again to today’s volunteers for helping to keep the Inland Woodworkers involved in community activities.
