Inland Woodworkers supports students in the STEAM program by teaching the teachers

On Wednesday Oct 28th the Inland Woodworkers President, Kenneth Thomas, led a class for teachers in the Alhambra Unified School District to show them how to use new woodworking equipment recently acquired by their schools. Teachers from Alhambra High School and Mark Keppel High School learned basic skills in operating the new CNCs and how to use CAD software created by Vectric. This training included tips on what process and materials would be best for students to learn with. Supporting the teachers as they teach the next generation of woodworkers is an important part of the mission of the Inland Woodworkers and we are excited at the opportunity to share our skills.

This class was part of our outreach in partnership with the Society of Wood Manufacturing (SWM) https://www.awfs.org/education/swm/ and Skills USA https://www.skillsusaca.org/.
